Hundreds of immigrants  are flowing daily through the bus station and the City's Immigrant Resource Center. IWC needs to fill 50 volunteer shifts EACH WEEK. They NEED YOU to help out for one shift one night a week or as often as you are able. These extremely vulnerable and traumatized families need you. There are 2 shifts, both at Travis Park United Methodist Church downtown, free parking available:

  • 7:00pm - 10:00pm - 3-4 volunteers are needed to help the families get comfortable for the night and ready for travel the next day. One fluent Spanish speaker is needed, for the others it isn't essential.

  • 9:30pm - 8:00am - 2-3 volunteers are needed, probably alternating sleep with another volunteer, simply being on hand while exhausted families sleep. As above, one fluent Spanish speaker is needed; for the others it isn't essential.

Orientation will be provided. Please consider this with care and with prayer. For more information, call, text, or write Jo Pendleton at (210) 478-8867 or If you haven't completed an IWC volunteer application, you can download one at and send your completed application by email to
